I've been trying to write a post for the last half hour and have erased all my ideas. My train wreck post was a bit too gloomy (yes - actually about train wrecks, not just in a metaphor sense), and my Christmas activity post was abandoned when I found out that a lot of the stuff on my list to do is closed over the holidays.
Then I wrote a note thanking everyone who has contacted me over the last year to say they liked this site, but that sounded too self serving.
I went to film school, and I remember my first semester a professor said that only amateurs make films about how hard it is to come up with an idea for a film (a.k.a. filmmakers block). I will not blog about having bloggers block. Although I think I just coined a killer new phrase.
So here's my topic. We had snow last Friday. And it was awesome. And I got really annoyed with cold-weather transplant friends on Facebook who whined crap like "Okay people, what you see? It isn't really 'snow.'" (Actual post from a friend who moved here from Baltimore). Snow in Austin is rare and therefore should be celebrated, I don't care where you come from.
That's it. I'm about to pass out I'm so tired. My daughter is STILL waking up in the middle of the night and it's wearing me out.

Your 'contact me' is not working right (or I'm not doing something right) it says:
Sorry, the form id you provided could not be found in our database.
My husband and I are interested in moving to Austin and had a few questions for you
Thanks, I think the site where I get the free form was down for a little bit, but it's back up now. Do you want to try again?
funny. we moved here from a place with "real snow" and we celebrated those 7 or 8 flakes that fell. My husband celebrated because he misses the snow and anything was better than nothing. And I celebrated because it was only 7 or 8 flakes... I moved to Austin trying to avoid that flaky-white-stuff.
: )
I think a little snow is infinitely better than blizzards.
